Family Style Luxury at the Malibu Beach Inn

Family Style Luxury at the Malibu Beach Inn

Malibu Beach Inn

Located on the famous Carbon Beach (a.k.a. Billionaire’s Beach), The Malibu Beach Inn is a unique, boutique hotel with 47 rooms, a gourmet restaurant and a spa.

Recently, my family and I spent the weekend at The Malibu Beach Inn and had such a great time, I want to share it with you!

Check-In at The Malibu Beach Inn

We arrived in the evening on Friday. We pulled in and the valet promptly opened our doors and welcomed us with a smile. They were quick to unload our bags allowing us to easily get checked in.

We entered the hallway to the Inn which opens up into a quaint lobby. There is the front desk, a lovely fireplace, a bar and some sitting areas. It then opens up onto a beautiful back deck which is where the restaurant is with breathtaking views.

The décor is sophisticated contemporary and very welcoming. Original pieces of artwork are found throughout the Inn and the furniture is comfortably chic.

The staff was friendly and there were salt water taffy’s, cookies and spa water readily available so the kids were happy – which made checking in nice.

When we reached our room, our bags had already been delivered and carefully laid out. The room was gorgeous, clean and the view… stunning. We were on the third floor, ocean side. Absolutely magnificent.

Here is the view from our room at the Malibu Beach Inn:

Shortly thereafter, staff arrived with warm cookies and milk for the kids. This was awesome because we set the kids up on the balcony to eat (seriously, how lucky are they?!!) and we were able to get settled and organized without them under foot – which is a small luxury in itself!!

Our First Night at The Malibu Beach Inn

The kids made themselves right at home! Later on, we took an evening stroll down the beach. While we were out, the staff came in to do the turn down service. They made up the second bed, fluffed all of the pillows and left yummy chocolates for us! They did a great job!

We got the kids showered and snuggled in bed next to the fireplace with a lovely fire lit. I did not hear any road noise or people in the hallway – it was nice and quiet, however I still opted to use our sound machine as we always sleep with one on.

The beds were comfortable with plenty of luxury pillows and blankets. It wasn’t long before they were fast asleep so we ordered some drinks to have out on the balcony.

This worked out great. The server was very quiet when knocking on the door so as not to disturb the sleeping children and we actually got to sit out under the moonlight, over the beach listening to the sound of the waves crashing and have some much needed quality time together.

Saturday at The Malibu Beach Inn

We decided to order room service for breakfast to eat in our jammies because… we could!! The food was excellent. My daughter and I ate out on the balcony together. I had tea, fresh OJ, yogurt, their organic homemade maple granola and fruit. My daughter had the Berry Kaboom Smoothie, a cherry pastry and a chocolate muffin. The boys ate muffins and the Norwegian Smoked Salmon plate inside by the fire. It was a great way to start the day!

Weather permitting on Saturday and Sundays at 9am The Malibu Beach Inn offers a complimentary yoga class. Though I did not get to attend this class, I do practice yoga on the beach here in Malibu regularly and it is a powerful thing. So be sure to check with the front desk during your stay to see if the Yoga Class is on – you don’t want to miss it!

The Malibu Beach Inn has a great location that is walking distance to many attractions. On Saturday and Sundays there is a free trolley that can take you around. You can find their schedule here, The Malibu Beach Inn is one of their stops.

We were in and out all day – but you will have to wait until next Tuesday and the first webisode of Mama Loves Family Travel – Our Malibu Staycation to see all that we did!!

The staff at The Malibu Beach Inn were helpful and friendly every time we saw them. The manager seemed happy and always greeted us with a smile. There was easy access to get down to the beach, showers to rinse off in before you came up from the beach, plenty of towels, always plenty of water in the lobby to drink, oh and did I mention the fully stocked wine bar in our room with local wines – the luxury Molton Brown products and the yummy in-room snacks?

The kids were so exhausted from our day. Thankfully, while we were out to dinner, they came and did our turn down service so we were able to put the kids right in bed as soon as we returned.

And then we got a second night together out on that amazing balcony… pure bliss! A perfect day followed by a perfect night.

Sunday at The Malibu Beach Inn

After another great sleep, it was time to check out. So we got dressed, packed up and headed downstairs for breakfast at the Carbon Beach Club and to check out.

We had a lovely, quiet breakfast with superb food and stunning views. The service was quick and the food was hot and delicious.

The Malibu Beach Inn treated us like family and we were sad our staycation was already over! No one wanted to check out!

Malibu Beach Inn

This Inn has a laid back, yet classy feel to it. It is the perfect environment to relax, reconnect and recharge with your family. We had a great experience here and definitely plan on going back again.

Whether you are a local and in need of a staycation or you are a visitor wanting to get a real taste of Malibu, The Malibu Beach Inn is the place for you!
