5 Ways To Be Conscious This Holiday Season

Ways-to-be-conscious-this-holiday-season

The holiday season comes and goes so quickly and often leaves us (well me anyway) in a whirlwind! The gifts, the amazing food, the events… there is so much to see and do it can often times overwhelm us.

Something I started doing 4 years ago was setting intentions for the New Year. You can read about that here (and I would love to have you join me this year in doing it on January 1, 2020!!) but today I want to talk applying that to others things, even on a smaller scale.

I was thinking this year, as we are in the middle of the holiday season and yes I’m a bit flustered, that we could apply our intentions and be more mindful and conscious this holiday season. So I sat down and meditated. I thought about what was really important to me during the holiday season and how I could focus on that.

And then I made a list!

I set my intentions specifically for this holiday season – with the laws of attraction I am inviting the good and positive vibes in and so much pressure (that yes, we put on ourselves lol) is removed. It works!

Check out:

5 Ways To Be Conscious This Holiday Season

  1. Set your intentions. Take 5 minutes to list out what is important to you during the holiday season. Is it your families, charities, gift-giving, parties, friends, personal fitness, food. Whatever it is, define it so you can focus on that and remove the other minor stressors that can snowball! What is really important to you?
  2. Get organized. Leaving things undone will clutter up your brain more than anything else. So get yourself organized. Check out my easy tips on getting organized and ahead this holiday.
  3. Eat Healthy. Feed your body what it craves and needs in these winter months. Boost up on leafy greens, hearty soups and lots of veggies. If you are conscious of giving your body good, sustainable fresh foods, it will thank you with lots of energy and good decisions instead of sluggish, foolish decisions coming from all the holiday sugars and fatty party foods we have a hard time saying no to! You can do it! Check out these yummy, conscious party food recipes I have listed here. Simple twists on favorite foods that make them healtly, conscious and super tasty!
  4. Carve out some ‘me-time’ each day. Whether it is to meditate, pray, exercise – make sure you don’t sacrifice your time to keep you feeling whole and relaxed.
  5. Set specific family time and stick to it! Lives get crazy busy, especially during the holidays. And where our families can be the most important part of our holiday, we sometimes get so busy we take them for granted. So make some special you one-on-one time with your partner, your children or your parents. To check in. To be conscious together of this blessed time we get together. And remember what this really is all about.

Cheers and Happy Conscious Holidays!
