Day 15 – About Malibu – Surfrider Beach

This was our view from Surfrider Beach in Malibu today. This beach runs under the Malibu pier, across the lagoon and is home to Malibu’s famous never-ending wave.

This is where Tom Blake broke in (it was privately owned at the time) in the early 20’s, discovered this wave and spread the word. By the late 30’s Malibu had become known as the best wave on the west coast!

Today it continues to draw both locals and visitors alike, offering a laid back atmosphere where any water sport goes!! The people are friendly, the beach is sandy and the Pier is right there with amazing food if you get hungry!!

Parking is scarce here, on any day of the week, so be sure to arrive early if you want a prime spot!!

For the perfect Malibu day, bring your boards or snorkeling equipment, play in the water then head up to the Pier for some great food!
