My Broken Thyroid Update

broken-thyroidbroken

Managing a broken thyroid can be a challenging journey, it’s been a nightmare for me. I’ve recently made some significant strides in my health, and I’ve found a few things that have helped me that I must share with you.

Identifying that my thyroid issues stemmed from high stress and complex trauma was a turning point in my healing journey. Understanding the connection between my emotional and physical health has allowed me to adopt effective tactics for recovery. For me, it seems my cells are broken and not absorbing what my thyroid is producing. So the western thyroid medicine will mask this, but not repair my cells and return me to optimal health.

I’ve been trying all kinds of different things, here I want to share the things that have helped me along the way. My journey is in no way over, my body has not gone back to normal, but I feel the difference with some of the things I have tested and I want to share them with you!

Here are some natural techniques I’ve been using to help my body repair my broken thyroid

Colostrum – Hollywood’s best kept secret!

Colostrum, the first milk produced by mammals after giving birth, is packed with immune-boosting properties and growth factors. I started incorporating colostrum into my daily routine a few months ago, and I’ve noticed some positive changes. It’s rich in immunoglobulins, which support gut health and may help reduce inflammation—something that’s often linked to broken thyroid issues. As I’ve worked on healing my gut, I’ve felt an overall improvement in my energy levels and digestion. Within the first week of taking this I noticed a difference. It must be taken on an empty stomach in a cold beverage. I simply mix it in with my iced tea first thing in the morning and enjoy it’s effects all day.

Selenium Support – by Life Extension

Selenium has been another game-changer in my broken thyroid management. This essential mineral plays a critical role in thyroid hormone production and helps protect the thyroid gland from oxidative stress. Life Extension’s selenium supplement is a convenient way for me to ensure I’m getting the right amount. Since I started taking it, I’ve noticed a decrease in my thyroid-related symptoms, such as fatigue and brain fog. It’s remarkable how such a small nutrient can have such a significant impact on overall health. Most women over 40 are deficient in this, yet it is vital to our feminine health.

Vitex – Chaste Tree Berry

Vitex, or chaste tree berry, can offer several benefits for thyroid health, particularly in supporting hormonal balance. By influencing the pituitary gland, Vitex helps regulate the production of hormones that can impact thyroid function, especially in women experiencing issues related to menstrual cycles or menopause. This regulation can alleviate symptoms of thyroid dysfunction, such as fatigue and mood swings. Additionally, Vitex may aid in reducing stress levels, which is crucial, as stress can negatively affect thyroid health. I have less hot flashes with this and feel better overall.

A Holistic Approach to a Broken Thyroid

While these supplements have been beneficial, I’m also focusing on a holistic approach to my health. This includes maintaining a balanced diet rich in whole foods, incorporating regular exercise, and managing stress through mindfulness practices. By addressing my thyroid health from multiple angles, I feel more empowered and in control of my well-being.

The Journey Ahead

I’m optimistic about my broken thyroid journey ahead. I plan to continue with the colostrum, vitex and selenium, monitoring my progress with regular check-ups and blood tests. It’s a relief to feel like I’m making progress in a complex situation and I’m always on the lookout for new options to heal.

I encourage anyone dealing with broken thyroid issues to explore supportive options like these, and to remember that healing takes time, patience, and a commitment to self-care.

Cheers,
