How to Clean Your Bathroom FAST!

Welcome to the first post in my Household Cleaning Tips Series! You can find my printable master list of household cleaning jobs there and be sure to read my Simple Steps to Keeping Your House Clean.

The bathroom is undoubtedly the nastiest room in the house to clean! Unfortunately, it is absolutely necessary to keep them tidy and fresh! So I thought it best to start my room-by-room guide to household cleaning tips with this room!

How to Clean Your Bathroom Fast

Tip 1 to Clean Your Bathroom Fast – Daily:

Always keep a natural shower cleaner by your shower/tub and remember to spray it every other time you use either the shower or tub. Method Daily Shower Cleaner is my favorite – smells amazing and does not let soap scum build-up thus making it WAY easier to clean the showers and tubs.

Tip 2 to Clean Your Bathroom Fast – Daily:

Keep your tools where you will use them! Behind each toilet in our house you will find a toilet brush on a stand. In each bathrooms cabinet, you will find natural toilet cleaner, natural glass cleaner, and a natural disinfectant spray. This is my run-down on Cleaning Products. If you have really little ones running around be sure to find a closet with a really high shelf to store your cleaning products instead of under the cabinets.

Tip 3 to Clean Your Bathroom Fast – Daily:

Keep some disinfecting wipes handy for daily toothpaste spills and whatnot! This will make the weekly clean MUCH easier.

Tip 4 to Clean Your Bathroom Fast – The Weekly Clean:

Get into a groove! Music can help (though sometimes I will be honest, silence is golden!), gather your paper towels or microfiber rags, and get your gloves on! Here is the order of my groove:

◊Pop 2 Alka-Seltzer tablets into the toilet (make sure it has been flushed and there is nothing in it!) and coat under the rims with a natural toilet cleaner.

◊Close lid and let bubbles & cleaner work.

◊While that is taking a minute to sink in, spray mirror(s) and fixtures with natural glass cleaner and then spray counters and sinks with natural disinfectant spray (OR you could mix equal parts water and vinegar, put in a spray bottle and use that).

◊Get paper towels/rags and wipe mirror first. Then wipe down counters, sinks and lastly fixtures.

◊Back to the toilet, spray rim, lid, cover and back/top with a natural disinfectant spray. Then spray tub/shower, including shower doors.

◊Get paper towels/rags and wipe down toilet. Use brush to scrub inside of toilet and then flush.

◊Use paper towels/rags and wipe down shower.

◊Vacuum/Sweep/Swiffer/Mop. Whatever your floor is in there, make sure you get under the lid of your cabinet, around the toilet, and all of the corners that love to collect hair and dirt!

◊Change out hand towels and only used shower/bath towels.

Done! That easy to clean your bathroom fast. This generally takes me about 10 minutes! Following my 3 easy tips will help make the weekly clean a breeze!

Monthly you will want to wash the toothbrush holder, run a duster around the upper light fixtures and upper corners of the room, wash/beat outside any rugs in the bathroom, and make sure there is still plenty of backup toilet paper.

Quarterly you will want to change toothbrushes, and resupply products.

Yearly you will want to buy new rugs and towels. Keep an eye on Joss and Main (one of my fave places) for great sales on both and many more items!
