Day 12 About Malibu – Rock Sculptures – The Power of Team Work

Today I am combining #WanderlustWednesday with #WisdomWednesday to talk about our rock sculptures that are common around Malibu, both on the beach and in the canyons. Not only are they beautiful to see, but they are so healing to build.

Rock sculptures are rocks that have been carefully balanced upon each other to form something of such incredible splendor. They have the power to evoke feelings of serenity, peace, wonder and love. I am always amazed at how some rocks fit perfectly together and others do not, yet they all seem to come together to create stability. The perfect example of teamwork.

Teamwork is something that I am constantly talking about with my kids. Working together to create something is a great way to learn to respect others, yourself and the things we have around us. Building rock sculptures teaches your children how effective teamwork can be as you are left with something of magnificence. The Malibu outdoor lifestyle offers plenty of opportunity for this!
