Day 2 About Malibu – Location

…”Where the mountains meet the sea and the surf sounds loudly”… This description given over a hundred years ago by the Chumash Indians is right on.

Malibu is 21 miles long along some of the most gorgeous Southern California coastline. Originally, the town was 27 miles long, but when they incorporated in March of 1991 we lost a few miles due to disagreements over sewers.

Santa Monica, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Newbury Park and Camarillo are the neighboring towns surrounding Malibu.

Malibu is about a 30 minute ride (with no traffic) to LAX and downtown LA – and about 45 minutes to DisneyLand!

In Malibu there are incredible beaches with abundant surf, awesome canyon hikes to take, a pier to walk, great shops and restaurants to visit, Pepperdine University plus some fantastic museums – but more on that later!
