Day 5 About Malibu – Mangia
Malibu is home to some amazing restaurants. I’ve chosen one of our newer restaurants to feature first because it truly is a hidden gem – Mangia.
Mangia is an Italian Countryside Eatery opened by veteran restaurateur Antonio Alessi, owner of Tra di Noi – also in Malibu.
Mangia is located in the newly remodeled Trancas Country Market and features open indoor seating with a few booths, a full bar and a colorful patio overlooking the green mountains.
The staff is friendly and ready to help your meal be memorable. The decor is that of an Italian restaurant – cozy, pleasant and comfortable.
The food is outstanding. You can find anything from fresh pizzas, to incredible antipasti (we tried the Fritto, it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!), to fresh farm to table salads (I had the Portabella salad which was out of this world – I will definitely be back for this dish in particular!) to delicious fresh, homemade pasta. They even have family size portion options on the menu!! And don’t forget to have a scoop of their homemade gelato to finish off your meal!
One thing we like to do is grab a pizza to take home from here after a long beach day. They do pizza to go and take away for most menu items. Mangia is also available to cater special events. They are open daily from 12 – 10pm and have totally reasonable prices.
Unfortunately I lost my photos of the food from my lunch there, but I will be sure to share them next time I go.
Or you could just come check it out… #ExploreMalibu – we would love to have you visit!
