My Experience With 99Designs

I just completed my first contest with 99Designs. It was so good that I have to share it with you!

How 99Designs works

One of the biggest parts to going into business for yourself is the branding, specifically the look of your company. If you’re a first timer, this can be pretty scary.

99Designs is there to help! They offer many packages and options to design your logo for every type of business. I was so pleased with my experience that I am now an affiliate for 99Designs so that I can bring this experience to other people starting their companies!

Here is how my 99Designs contest went

First, I chose which package I wanted. They offer a range from just logo design to letterhead, business cards and everything in between design! All very well explained and user friendly.

Then I entered the specs I had in mind for my logo. My advice here is to be as specific as you can, right down to color, font types or what you want it to go with. Don’t be afraid to ask for anything.

Then I double checked everything to make sure it was what I wanted!

Next I entered my credit card info and opened up the contest!

It was awesome, within almost 24 hours I had over 40 entries! I tried to leave feedback for the ones I was considering and any changes I wanted to see.

Over the next 2 days I received the asked for changes in addition to another 30 designs!

On the 4^th day you choose the top 5 designs and have 2 days to make any and all requests. I chose my fave 3 designs and asked to see them in a couple of different ways. My designers were all completely professional and helpful, honoring all requests.

I had an option to run a poll, which I did try. Not too many people weighed in, but it made it super easy to email my final picks to family and friends for their opinion so I consider the poll to be pretty helpful.

It took me 2 days, but I made my final choice. With just a few clicks, my amazing designer gave me all of the files I asked for and 99Designs handled all of the contracts and licensee agreements. I had my new logo!
