Fun Idea for Families in Santa Barbara
We recently visited the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens. It was on our summer bucket list to get there and a place that I had been wanting to visit for a long time.
The Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens are a living museum with over 78 acres boasting over 1,000 taxa of California native plants. This garden truly illustrates the remarkable diversity of California’s flora and vegetation.
In order to keep the kids busy I came up with a photo scavenger hunt to keep them involved and happy.
You can get a copy to print here Santa Barbara Botanic Garden Photo Scavenger Hunt.
Together we packed up a little hunting bag, here’s how:
- I asked them to pick a bag they would be comfortable and happy to carry.
- Both of mine have their own camera – this is the kind we use. Ours are almost 2 years old and work great. They take great photos, travel really well and are incredibly durable. My daughter has the pink and my son has the blue! You can purchase Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera, Pink there on Amazon!
- Pack the bag with the camera, binoculars, a magnifying glass, a notebook with a pencil and a water.
- Then put on some sunscreen and go have fun!
- When you get home, find the pics you love, print them up and have fun making a journal out of it. Record what your favorite findings were and anything interesting you may have learned!
Happy hunting!
