I love natural beauty products. So when La Lune Naturals contacted me to review their new Konjac Sponge, I was excited. I have been wanting to try a Konjac sponge for some time now and here is my opportunity!

La Lune Naturals sent me this product in exchange for my honest review. But before I could review, I had to find out exactly what a Konjac Sponge was!

What is a Konjac Sponge?

The Konjac Sponge hails from Asia where the Konjac plant has been used for over 1500 years as a food source and more recently – in the last century – has been used in many beauty treatments. Konjac is actually a potato like plant that grows wild at higher elevations in Asia. The Konjac sponge is handmade from the fibers of this plant. It is common to add in French clays or Bamboo Charcoal. The Konjac Sponge is safe, gentle and 100% biodegradable – you can compost the old Konjac Sponge when you are ready for a new one!

What does a Konjac Sponge do?

But does the Konjac Sponge work?

Yes! It arrived dry and hard with easy to read/understand directions right on the packaging – the eBook that they sent was pretty cool too. I soaked it in warm water for about 40 seconds and the sponge was nice and soft. It felt like some product was already on it so I decided to try it without my cleanser first. I scrubbed my face in circular motions as recommended. I was pleasantly surprised. It took most of my makeup right off, however it did not get my mascara off. My face was left feeling sooo soft and smooth.

The next night I tried it with a bit of my gentle cleanser. I definitely used less cleanser as the sponge made it very foamy. I was left with the same soft and smooth result.

I love La Lune Konjac Sponge – they get 2 thumbs up from me! I fully recommend this sponge and it has quickly become a staple in my facial care regime!

I have been using it for a full week now and my sponge is in great condition, not even a crack yet! Not to mention I feel good knowing I am using a 100% natural product that is biodegradable!
