England is one of my favorite countries. From the history and architecture to the incredible art to the friendly people, England has so much to offer for families.

Recently I was on a sponsored trip that the fabulous team at VisitBritain put together for me (check out their informative site to get your visit to England booked today). I had such an amazing time and learned so much on this trip.

To Celebrate Roald Dahl’s 100th Anniversary. This year is beloved children’s author Roald Dahl’s 100th anniversary and there are all kinds of celebrations going on to fascinate both children and adults. From amazing exhibits at the Southbank Centre, to incredible musicals in the theater – Matilda is a must see – to fun Willy Wonka themed afternoon teas, there is so much to do, you won’t want to miss it!

To experience the magic! There is something so magical about being in a land with castles and queens where so many cherished fairy tales and books have been created and so many favorite films had been made. Step into the fantasy in England, live like a king, queen or wizard for a week, feel the history here and leave all the better for it.

The breathtaking country side. London is gorgeous and fun, but the country side is absolutely incredible. Rolling hills, little settlements everywhere, farms, fields and animals roaming about them all can be found just minutes outside of London. I spent a night at Manor on Weston on the Green, a real country manor house and it was remarkable. Whether you travel by train, bus or car, I highly recommend touring around the English countryside and spending a few nights there. It is a wonderful experience you will not want to miss.

The opportunity for family bonding. Family travel is a great way to build a strong family bond. Family travel gives so many chances for discovering how each family member can contribute to the well-being of the family in their own way, it shows us how important sticking together can be as well as encourages us to see the strengths of each family member and to appreciate them.
