8 Happy Habits That Focus On You
It is a known fact that habits are important, that they are our foundation.
Though habits are generally subconscious, meaning things we do without realizing, it is possible to become conscious of our habits and therefore change them.
Recognizing our habits can be a challenging but necessary part of growing all throughout life. But once you do, the door opens up and you can choose anything. I choose to be happy every day, here are 8 habits that help me stay that way!
8 Happy Habits That Focus On You
#1 Happy Habits –
Start your day with positive anticipation. When you wake up, one of your first thoughts should be “Today is going to be great” or “I wonder what awesomeness will happen today”. Train yourself to be positive and to have positive thoughts early on in the day. These early thoughts will shape your day, I promise. Try it and see!
#2 Happy Habits –
Make a list. Generally, I have so much going on that I feel completely overwhelmed and like I cannot finish even one thing. I find that making a list in the morning, and prioritizing it, of everything that needs doing alleviates a lot of this tension. And it helps me feel like I have accomplished something at the end of the day when everything is crossed off the list.
#3 Happy Habits –
Take 5 parent minutes a day. Use this time to meditate, collect yourself or just breathe. Whatever you need, just take at least 5 minutes a day to sit quietly and reflect. Honestly, I take 10! 😉
#4 Happy Habits –
Exercise. Taking care of our bodies should be our first priority. Exercising, in some way, every day is essential to being happy. A healthy body is a happy body so even if you are only able to take a 10 minute walk outside, or do leg lifts and squats during a commercial, get that gorgeous body moving and do some exercising!
#5 Happy Habits –
Eat clean. “Let food be thy medicine” is one of my favorite quotes because it is so true. Eat well and your body/mind will perform well. Eat like crap… and, well, you know! Do your best to eat fresh, local and seasonal food as often as possible.
#6 Happy Habits –
Be conscious. Be understanding of what may be going on with others. Try not to be so quick to judge or be offended by someone else – you have no idea what they may be going through. Instead do your best to be kind and forgiving, within reason.
#7 Happy Habits –
Disconnect. That’s right, get off that phone/ipad/tv, get away from the internet and check out real life a few times during the day at least!
#8 Happy Habits –
Appreciate. Be thankful for each day that we are given and appreciate that you have the opportunity to do something amazing. Focus on the things that you have, the glass is half full and your grass is quite green!
What are your happy habits?

I love these. It is so important to focus on us and stay healthy sometimes, and if we make it a habit, we won’t get burnt out.
