9 Ways to Find Your Passion Sooner Rather Than Later

ways to find your passion

When we become parents, our passions in life take a back seat, change… or just get forgotten!

Not having something of our own to be passionate about in life can leave us feeling bored and unfulfilled, even as busy parents.

So carve some time out and try the following exercises to find what makes you passionate as a parent!

9 Ways to Find Your Passion Sooner Rather Than Later

  1. Write down all of the things that make you feel something more during a 7 day period. It can be something you see during the day that you would like to try, a situation that you came upon that you strongly felt was wrong or vice versa, an activity that you love, etc. After 7 days, study the list. Somewhere in there are your passions, the things that interest you the most. Let them motivate you to schedule in some time to investigate your passion.

2. Brainstorm with a pen and paper. Writing it down will help you to see what is really going on inside of you. So take 30 minutes (or more) and brainstorm things that are important to you, things you would like to share with others or make a difference in, things that give you satisfaction.

3. Talk with an inspirational friend. We all have them. The one that you leave a conversation with and feel like you can take on the world? Ya, that one. Call them up, meet for coffee/tea and start off with asking them about their passion and let the conversation come around to your passion. You never know what will come up!

4. Research. Google different things you are interested in and learn as much as you can on each topic. You may find one you connect with more than the others and there is your passion! 😉

5. Talk to your family about finding your passion. Your family knows you well, your mate, hopefully, knows you best! Try having a conversation with them on things they have noticed you just light up about.

6. Try it out first. There is nothing like trial and error – yes, I speak from experience! Give the things you are interested in pursuing a try before completely committing. Just to make sure…!!!

7. Think about the why. Why does each thing make you feel something more? How can you use these feelings to really make a difference? How long have you been interested in this passion?

8. Travel! Take a trip, see what is out there, find your passion! 😉

9. Never give up!It may take some time and that is ok.

Life is a wonderful journey that our passion can help make interesting!

There is no time like the present to start finding our passions. They are what makes life worth living!

Though every parent is passionate about their children, and rightly so, we also need to have something of our own to be passionate about.

Whether it is a cause, an activity, a hobby, a collection – anything, having something to be passionate about keeps us connected and involved. Have a passion helps us to appreciate what we have.

What are your ways to find your passion sooner rather than later?
