Happy Father’s Day

Dear Dad,

There is so much I want to tell you and yet I never do. So this Father’s Day, here is my gift to you.

Though we may be far away from each other right now, you will always be close in my heart anyhow.

So today is the day, nothing can stop me, now I will tell you just what I want to say.

Thank you for always being there. Thank you for always reassuring me when I needed it. There are so many things I know I should thank you for, but for some reason all I can think about are those picnics we would take in our special spot by the lake – a place only we knew about or so it felt. The dances we shared– you let me step on your toes and never cared – to our special song (Somewhere by Barbara).

Thank you for always answering the phone whenever I rang. Thank you for always listening. Thank you for taking my side, standing next to me or behind me or in front of me – whatever I needed, you were there.

Of course there have been ups and downs, but when it really matters I can look around and you are easily found. Now I see you with my children and it truly is a pleasure. Proud Papa spoils them, loves them and gives them the guidance that only a Papa can give.

Thank you for loving me and my babies. You have made my world a better place, filled with love, adventure and happiness.

So on this special day, I may not be with you in person, but my heart and my thoughts are yours. I hope you have a wonderful day in every way. I can’t wait to see you soon.
