Choosing a hair salon and finding that perfect stylist that just knows how you like it (and makes you look stunning) can be very very tricky. Especially if you are new to having to color your hair, like I am.

Thanks to life (ahem… my kids) a few years ago, the time came to begin coloring my hair. Being a Leo through and through, I take a lot of pride in my hair and was simply not ready to be grey!! So my search began for the perfect color correction stylist.

Behind the scenes, this has been a rough year for me. I have been struggling to figure out who I now am as a single mama, a domestic violence survivor and a business owner. Simply put, I have been lost.

But Gila found me.

I arrived for my evening hair appointment after a long day with the kids (you know how that can be… 😉 )

My hair was a mess, as you can see below in the before and after! Gila offered me some tea or water, got me in her chair and dove right in to the color correcting. I immediately felt relaxed with her and knew I was in good hands. The stress of my day and my life was starting to melt away as she began working on my hair.

Gila has a great personality. Color correcting can take a long time, I was there for 2 and half hours, but she was gentle with my head, knowledgeable sharing fascinating information on hair coloring and cracking jokes making the time fly by. We had several laughs!

And when she finished? I looked in the mirror and saw myself for the first time in a while.

When she was finished I felt like me again, only now I felt beautiful. I realized that even though I have been struggling, I am strong.
