5 Reasons to Take a Second Honeymoon
Remember that first honeymoon? Before the babymoon, the mortgage, the school payments, the mini-van…
When we were carefree, eating whenever/whatever WE wanted too, waking up to our own internal clock, flowing at our own pace… together with our life mates.
Then the time arrived to start a family and together you excitedly jumped on board the family train! As incredible as that journey is, it is common to get lost and out of touch with each other from the routine of it all. Thankfully there is this little thing called a second honeymoon to rekindle the flame!
What is a Second Honeymoon?
A second honeymoon is a romantic vacation taken by a couple who have been married for some time. It doesn’t matter how far or near you go, it matters that you block out a chunk of time for just each other to step outside of your daily routines.
Sounds amazing, right?

It doesn’t matter how far you go, so plan something that fits into both of your schedules. A second honeymoon can take place as close or as far from home as you are comfortable with. The important thing is to carve time to step out of the day-to-day routine and enjoy eachother – to focus on eachother only.

Set an example. Not only for others, but for your children as well. Taking a second honeymoon inspires others to do the same time for their relationships making them happier. In addition it shows your children what a healthy marriage looks like – and that you both are a united front – so they can grow to have their own.

I can agree wholeheartedly with this! Hopefully someday we can take one, but it might be when the kids are older. In the meantime, I guess we’ll have to focus on smaller ways to connect. How wonderful though that you get to go to Fiji! I hope you both have a great time!
