#HappinessToday Day 7 of Happiness

#HappinessToday day 7 of happiness
Wow, did this week go by fast! For 7 days now I have been starting off my day thinking/writing about what gave me happiness the day before, What Makes You Happy. Day 1 and Day 2 were easy, Day 3 a challenge, Day 4 a surprise, Day 5 was simple and Day 6 was a routine day. But Day 7?

Day 7, today, I have reviewed the last 6 days.

I also did the challenge I posted yesterday, did you? I sat down for 1 full hour and wrote everything that gives me happiness, everything I appreciate.

The first 10 minutes flew by. By this point I had everything on my list starting with my family right down to my new socks!

For the next 35 minutes I struggled. What gives me happiness? The trees for giving us beauty and oxygen even made it onto my list!

The last 15? I had to get creative! I felt I needed to be more clear on my first entry and decided to list out each family member, even ones passed. I listed my fave kitchen items as they do make my life easier! In the last minute I came up with candles to end my list.

I had filled up a whole page. You know what I realized?

It is not solely my family that makes me happy, or all of the advances we have made in this modern age, or material possessions, or doing things for others, or the natural beauty of the oceans, mountains, rivers, meadows. It is a combination of all of it, and the absolute pure luck that I am able to experience all of these things that gives me true happiness.

I think that you can have any kind of family, advanced technology (running water), material possessions and landscape and be equally happy.

  1. A lovely post and realisation to have come to. It is rarely just one thing, but often a combination. A great exercise to do, too. Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  2. I think it is really important to consciously give thanks for everything you are grateful for. It make us really appreciate the little things. (Oh our badge seems to link to Verily Victoria Vocialises). Thanks for linking to #TheList x
