A Linky Party Explained

I have discovered another fun way to share and to explore together! Linky parties are also known as link up’s and blog hop parties and are a great way to connect.

But what is a Linky Party?

A linky party is when a host blog invites other blogs to link their own relevant posts and to share the comment love with other posts. This creates a safe place for people to come explore lots of different ideas on one topic which will generate traffic to each website that has been linked. In addition it provides a place for like-minded bloggers to showcase their work and appreciate each other’s work.

Why would I want to join a linky party?

To see and be seen!

For bloggers: Participating in a linky party is an effective way to boost traffic to your site and to see what other great bloggers in your industry are doing. A linky party is a fantastic way to find new bloggers to share the comment love with and is just fun to be a part of!

For readers: Participating in a linky party is easy for you too! Just surf the link’s, click on anything that catches your eye and comment and like away! This is a great place for you to get some fresh new ideas and find different blogs to follow.

How do you join a linky party?

So easy!

For bloggers: Just click on the Add Your Link button, copy/paste a link to a direct, relevant post only, not to your home page, add the title, easily crop your photo if it prompts you too and that’s it! You are Linked up! You want to be sure to add the entire web address starting with the http – if you don’t, it will not link. When done click the button to go back to the linky party, you should be able to see yours, verify and then go spread some comment love. Most linky parties have a badge. You really should put this at the end of the post you linked up, it is good linky etiquette to give the host a link back to their site on yours.
